I am now a 3rd-year graduate student in the College of Civil Engineering at Hunan University, supervised by Prof. Chao Zhang. I joined Prof. Zhang’s UNSAT lab in 2020 as a 3-rd year undergraduate student.

In the UNSAT lab, I belong to a four-member group focusing on phase transition for water in unsaturated soil. My primary research concentrated on the field of adsorption and evaporation of soil water. In addition to my research, I work closely with the other three members and deeply participate in the research of the other three members, e.g., heterogeneous ice nucleation of salt solution in porous media, the physical origin of freezing point depression of water in millimeter-sized pores, desiccation cracking in porous media, clay pore structure evolution via small-angle neutron scattering and small-angle scattering X-ray scattering, etc.

Research interests

My research focuses on the phase transitions of water in porous media, including adsorption, evaporation, and freezing. Recently, I have concentrated on using molecular simulation to investigate water film flow in unsaturated soil.
